DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS
The Department of mathematics came into existence in the year 1970 with BSc Mathematics. BSc Mathematics with Hons was introduced with 08 number of seats in the year 1977.Over the years the regular programme of BSc Mathematics Hon. has increased its sanctioned strength to 24.The department has produced many university rank holders and many of our alumni are students of nationally reputed institutions.
VISION
To cultivate a fine mathematics taste, nurture mathematical interest and motivate students towards mathematics in a tribal area like undivided koraput.
To enable our students to go for higher studies in premier institutions/placements.
MISSION
To provide good quality teaching through modern technology and provide an environment where students can learn, understand, apply and become competent enough to go for higher studies /placement.
To contribute in the all round development of the student as a mathematical thinker, enabling them to become a lifelong learner and to grow in their respective profession.
COURSES OFFERED
The department presently offers 3year graduate programme in mathematics with Hons. (BSc Mathematics Hons.)only.
ADMISSION
For admission into BSc Mathematics Hons. the applicant must have passed +2 examination(preferable science with PCM) and must apply in a common application form through SAMS.
